It’s quite astonishing how quickly standards of medicine are being eroded in the UK. Make no mistake, the aim here is to bamboozle the public into thinking they are seeing a doctor, but in reality will be seen by someone far less qualified.

We are clear: PA students do not study medicine, PAs are not medically trained, PAs are not medical professionals. We have approached the GMC to clarify its position.

Where is the protection for patients GMC ? This is so serious and undermines the breadth and depth of medical training, vital for the safe practice of medicine. The PA terminology appears to be causing so much confusion, even within the GMC.
