Sure, less is more, but there is also a blatant qualification problem for many of the panelists. People with zero business experience and who spent their entire adult life being “activists” or “organizers” shouldn’t be opining on multi million dollar contracts

Will Chancellor Kamar H. Samuels finally get rid of Cristina Melendez, whose hire already reeked of cronyism and “favors”? In her 5 year tenure at F.A.C.E., rising to Deputy Chancellor, she has demonstrated her incompetence and poor leadership of NYC Public Schools

Bobby Fijan Standardized tests are the only thing saving public education in NYC Middle school grades and ideas of achievement are highly subjective in NYC schools I saw kids with top grades in middle school unable to write simple essays or spell correctly when they reached high school

It is also mind boggling to see the constant attacks on the Specialized HS. What drives it? The flawed perception of inequity - even when half their students are low income? What is the end game here if not destroying the best public NYC Public Schools ?

"Wildly inconsistent." A Manhattan public school with parents who raise $1 million for extras and a famous mom who sat on Mayor Mamdani's inaugural committee would benefit from a DOE relocation proposal that includes crushing a middle school for kids of color. More here:

Hear me out: I’m convinced that INCREASING class sizes would actually improve education Why? How? Simple: Teacher quality is the single most important in-school factor Consider something radical: Double class sizes and you could cut the worst 50 percent of teachers Think

This means an even greater divide - for families who cannot afford $60k/yr and those who will just need to move because the are watching NYC Public Schools destroy the few good options that were available to them

Four non-English Language Learner parents telling both the ELL appointee as well as the ENTIRE Citywide Council of English Language Learners how they don't know what's best for themselves. Must be nice in Kelly Bare's, Kim Berney-Brooke's, Nancy Cruz's and Camara Hudson's ivory

A lot of people are dunking on this, and it’s true, she should have paid the $60 per month for 20 years and let the forgiveness kick in. But what they’re missing is that she was loaned $65k for a terminal master’s in historic preservation. That should never have happened.
