Parents: Your child is in high school. Please don’t walk across the court at halftime to give your child their water that they forgot. A) they shouldn’t have forgotten it & will learn not to forget it again B) they can walk over to you to get it if they need it

Idk who needs to hear this but you better develop your JV kids as well. They’re the future of your program! You cannot just be “a Varsity coach”. If you’re at a huge school that has a JV staff then develop your JV coach that also coaches your position.

Parents: You don’t need to tweet how many points your child scored after each game. College coaches aren’t scouring the internet trying to find parent accounts to see how many points players scored each and every night... in fact it might do the opposite + turn them off of your

Strength does not come from winning. When we face hardships (HEAD ON), and decide not to surrender, THAT is strength!

“Unfair” will happen to you. Adversity will happen to you. Ask yourself. ▪️How will you respond to adversity? ▪️Which version of you will show up? ▪️How will you react? ▪️How will you show up when it is “unfair”? Train your mind. You will be defined by your response.

Just because your coaches yell at you doesn’t mean they dislike you as a person. They may be giving you tough love because they truly care about you and want you to improve.
