Hi all! This summer has been so busy on the farm and in my personal life I haven't had many chances to update my birding friends. But I AM going birding this week and visiting the international crane foundation and very much am still in love with birds. ♥️😊

16 years with my old man Monty. And it still feels like he's gone too soon. ♥️ We grew up together and I'll miss him forever. RIP old man.

My favorite garden that I studied at was because I emailed them so many times to volunteer they pretty much just said "ok whatever!!! but you have to have a visa" 😂

Three amazing lifers for me this weekend visiting my friends in Duluth! Great Gray Owl, Boreal Owl, and Ruffed Grouse. It was so cold, and of course I never had my camera charged lol but it was amazing to be in their presence-my favorite part of birding.

After living in a rental for 6 years, I'm so happy to have my own home garden. No mowing over garden beds! No complaining about giant natives! No hate for leaving leaves for insects! No spraying our prairie while we're on vacation!!! Just whatever I can dream!!🥹🏡⛲️🪴

Spent the day checking waterlines in preparation for grazing season and admiring Phlox divaricata.

Visited the Montrose Bird Sanctuary this weekend with friends. Added Magnolia Warbler, Canada Warbler, Wilson's Warbler as lifers! So beautiful. Warblers don't seem to come to the farm so this was very exciting for me!!!!☺️

Someone has to invent something to stop bugs splattering on windshields. A net? A jet of air? I feel sick when I hit a monarch!! Or a lightning bug! :(

Calling all bird friends! I have been lucky enough to attract a few bald eagles to the farm (hurray!) but that also means they've been picking off my egg laying hens frequently. Besides a net, is there any way I can keep them away? Scarecrow? Radio? 😅
