25% of Salisbury Twp. SD population is special education. The state average is 18%. They are significantly over that % and are seeing students with more complex needs and are being required to open additional programs to support those students. #FundOurSchoolsPA

This is absolutely one of the public education mandates that doesn’t get talked about enough. If we didn’t have to transport to 40 other buildings we would have $700k more in our budget.

School funding is complex. We live in Salisbury and this hurts my head. This example is just one of many of why the funding system is broken and needs overhaul.

Or add additional bus routes to the current in district students to decrease travel times 🤷‍♀️
