From virtual @HWDSBCampPower to Rotary Summer Literacy in the park the Blunsdons are experiencing and enjoying camp this summer. My kids are thrilled to work and volunteer at this awesome camp. Rob is happy to be able to continue with the tradition of this camp. #Rotary

Today was the start of the 2020-2021 school year. It was also the first day of my 20th year of teaching HWDSB. Flexibility, patience, kindness and support are on my to do list as I’m taking it one day at a time - which is challenging for us planners. 📷@quotesbychristie via IG

When the Kinders @CreekMemorial tell you they want to run, I automatically think of adding in an element of phonological awareness. This simple activity of running from cup to cup with a rest to play I spy and clap syllables of the items we spied was a big hit HWDSB HWDSB Reading Specialists

Thank you for sharing Jessie. I have loved following along with your daily remote plans and your journey. Thinking of you tonight.

Teaching remotely is not without its challenges as a teacher and a parent. The best perk is midday walks with the dog (and whichever family member is on nutrition break at the same time).

Nothing’s better than building with 📦📦. Feb. 10 @ 11am, author-illustrator Kim Smith will read us her book Boxitects & chat about Donald Judd’s iconic stacked box sculpture. And yes, we'll be making stuff too! With thanks to our pals HarperCollinsCa 🧡 bit.ly/397BuHT

When reading 1:1 with a student today she recognized the word can. This word stumped her while reading with me last time. She was proud of herself. We raised our hands for a plexiglass high five!

Thanks Naomi Weller for organizing. The art of storytelling was engaging and inspiring as Lisa King & Dallas Squire shared First Nation stories of the creation of Turtle Island, lacrosse and dreamcatchers. It was lovely to hear the students say Chi Miggwech.

This the aftermath of my desk after a wonderful week at @HWDSBCampPower making our virtual camp experience hands on and interactive with puppets, playdough, popsicle sticks, lots of movement and games while reading and writing!
