Teaching remotely is not without its challenges as a teacher and a parent. The best perk is midday walks with the dog (and whichever family member is on nutrition break at the same time).

When a student in your reading group shows the words he made at home. The student becomes the teacher and asks us to read the words we know. HWDSB Reading Specialists

When reading 1:1 with a student today she recognized the word can. This word stumped her while reading with me last time. She was proud of herself. We raised our hands for a plexiglass high five!

Thanks Naomi Weller for organizing. The art of storytelling was engaging and inspiring as Lisa King & Dallas Squire shared First Nation stories of the creation of Turtle Island, lacrosse and dreamcatchers. It was lovely to hear the students say Chi Miggwech.

I taught at Bennetto Elementary School for 11 years. So many memories were formed around “the tree” for myself, students and their families.

This the aftermath of my desk after a wonderful week at @HWDSBCampPower making our virtual camp experience hands on and interactive with puppets, playdough, popsicle sticks, lots of movement and games while reading and writing!
