Today, we are repealing Michigan’s extreme 1931 law that bans abortion and criminalized nurses and doctors for doing their jobs.  This is long overdue. 🧵

While other states are stripping away people’s rights, we’re taking action to defend fundamental freedoms.  If you live in a state restricting your freedom to authentically live your life and make decisions for your own body, I have three words for you: come to Michigan!

While other states are engaged in the business of bigotry, we're protecting fundamental rights.  As Michigan's governor, I’ll always defend the rights of women and the LGBTQ+ community.  If you seek a pleasant peninsula (or two) where your rights are protected, look no further!

Over the past few months, we’ve gotten a lot done for Michiganders:  ✅ Repealed 1931 abortion ban
✅ Expanded the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act
✅ Rolled back the Retirement Tax
✅ Boosted the Working Families Tax Credit Let’s keep working together to get things done.

As other states work to erode your reproductive freedom, I’m fighting like hell to expand it. You’re always welcome in Michigan.
