How might I make more space for student’s own expectations of their learning? A great question to bring into my class as we navigate a grade-less space. Thanks for the great thinking and conversation tonight Jesse Stommel HDSB The Shift

What do you do when you teach art in a school with a raven mascot? #putabirdonit @maple_ridge_ss @mapleridgeSCDSB instagr.am/p/CV5l-bIrtQK/

Moving back to the pre-pandemic schedule will make life much better for most things. But the 2.5 hour class for art was amazing! I think the best way forward involves more flexibility for the needs of learners and best delivery of various subject areas.

Refugee sponsorships are hard work but so very rewarding! Consider reading this story and donating. It is clear that this young man will have a wonderful circle of support in Canada. 😊

Alright, I'll be giving away this $10,000 Gucci XBox to a follower who retweets this in the next 24 hours. I'll ship it anywhere on earth. Good luck. Here's what's inside: youtu.be/JnGXTk57rOU

A2 I don’t think exhibitions have to always be big undertakings either. They could simply be gallery walks within a classroom. Or inviting one other class into the art studio & have host artists curate for them. Mini exhibitions seem more approachable to me right now #K12Artchat

Dr. Valerie Irvine (mastodon.social/@virvine) EdCan Network Holly Bennett Education Canada Magazine @Stephen_Hurley voicEd.ca We wrestled w/ this EXACT question this week in a small think tank for the opening of a new school. I’m of the belief that if we centre love in education, not only is that decolonized practice, but it could revolutionize the educational experience for students. @nogahk @MsLemaire

A great explanation of what shifting towards an ungraded art class looks like. And some great student centered reasons why any class could use this - like students building more confidence in their own learning with peer support
