On Friday, Library technicians explored the world of makerspaces, discovering how schools are integrating them into libraries. From Make Writing to blackout poetry, weaving to altered cards, it was a hands-on exploration of creativity!

🚂🗝️Exploring the fascinating world of #Steampunk in Grade 6 & 7! Dr. David R. Williams Public School students showed creativity by building with gears, clocks, and keys, then explored the intricate components of steampunk through sketching gears, pipes, gadgets, clocks, dials, and steam.⚙️🔧

Grade 1 FI students at P.L. Robertson embarked on an exciting design dash!🚤 Working in small groups, they brainstormed, prototyped, and sailed their teachers and treasure across the water safely.🌊 After testing, they eagerly revised their boats to be even better #DesignThinking

Inspired by the curiosity & creativity of Grade 4 students at P.L. Robertson! They began a coding journey with Ozobot robots & slow shutter photography📷—capturing mesmerizing light trails to create stunning photos. Now they're ready to teach the rest of the Grade 4's!

🎬 Kudos to the Gr 3 students at Brant Hills P.S.! They've embarked on an exciting journey into stop motion by collaborating to craft a scene together🎥Their creativity knows no bounds & we can't wait to see the incredible stories they'll tell as they continue to hone their skills.

Grade 3 students at Tiger Jeet Singh PS are sketchnoting superstars!🌟 They're honing their skills with simple drawings & labels, proving that sketchnoting is about capturing ideas, not being a great artist. Using basic shapes, they sketched characters & scenes from 'The Creepy Crayon.'

🎨Grade 1 students rocked their first peer assessment circles at CRBPS! They shared their unfinished artwork in an inside/outside circle, mastering a simple feedback protocol to help each other enhance their incredible creations.🖌️

🌿Grade 5, 6, and 7 students at CRBPS joined forces to delve into the world of nature journaling. 🌳🦋 Using the prompts 'I notice, I wonder, it reminds me of,' they embarked on a journey to connect with nature on a deeper level.🌼🔍

Students CRBPS are diving deep into the UN Sustainable Development Goals and discovering what makes them Sustainable Superheroes.🦸‍♀️ They're using a causal model to identify the traits and qualities that help make them global citizens for a better world.🌎

Our week at CRBPS is off to a creative start! 🎨 Grade 6/7 FI is diving into the world of meaningful feedback through the fun task of 'Bird Arms.' 🦜 They're adding stick arms to birds to convey actions and emotions, and then practicing giving each other thoughtful feedback. 👏
