#SeedDispersal Ginkgo/Gingko (G. biloba) now ornamental tree around the world. Has separate male & female trees. Most planted ones male; why? Fleshy outer layer of fruit (sarcotesta) contains butanoic/butyric acid, causing horrible smell. Unwanted in a decorative plant! #BUC2025
