Let the crazy socks for docs day begin. These feet tell you Doctors are human. Stop the rot and culture of invulnerability or lone warrior. Stop institutional abuse. Stop the resilience mythology. #crazysocksfordocs Mukesh Haikerwal crazysocks4docs Geoff Toogood #GPDU18

My attempt at #crazysocks4docs and shoes to raise awareness of doctors’ mental health. Tweeting from QLD, Australia at #GPDU18 - a group of GPs doing their bit to foster a community of support

Today is a proud day for general practice. Most Australians will get the AstraZeneca vaccine and many will want to be vaccinated by their usual GP, if they can. GPs are perfectly placed to increase vaccine confidence and uptake. Patients know their usual GP and they trust us.

Today GPs start making history! Vaccination is something we do well every year and we are ready to do it again on a historic scale. Today is the first step in getting this country back to normal.

Today is Crazy Socks 4 Docs day. It was started by Dr Geoffrey Toogood to address mental health stigma among health practitioners. The RACGP has long been a strong advocate against mandatory reporting laws that discourage doctors from seeking healthcare crazysocks4docs.com.au/crazysocks4doc…

There were 15,400 "excess deaths" from #COVID19 across Australia in the first eight months of 2022. It's another reminder we are not out of the woods yet. Please get vaccinated and boosted and take those small but important steps to help limit community transmission of the virus.

The RACGP backs rigorous systems to stop overbilling. However, this problem is not universal. The vast bulk of GPs do the right thing and the $8b figure remains unproven. In fact, 47% of surveyed GPs avoided claiming services due to compliance fears. smh.com.au/politics/feder…
