No team makes it harder to root for them than the Boston Red Sox.

The Red Sox really said to themselves, “I know it’s been five years and everyone already hates us for it and thinks we’re complete idiots, but how do we make the Mookie Betts trade look even worse? I got it. Let’s trade Rafael Devers a year and a half into his 10-year deal.”

In 25 years we went from paying Manny 160m to salary-dumping Devers a couple hours after a Yankee sweep. On the Pu Pu Platter Scale from 1 to Verdugo/Wong/Downs, this was like an 8.5.

The Red Sox traded the face of their franchise for a minor league pitcher.

Red Sox continuously have asked this fan base for time and patience only to have their faces routinely spit on. It’s sad hearing from fans who used to care deeply about this team but don’t anymore. I can’t even come up with an argument for why they’re wrong for feeling that way.

I hate them right now. Was supposed to watch Mookie and Raffy for years instead both are gone. How am I supposed to invest in this new young core when they might be gone in a few years cause the Red Sox are cheap now.
