UPDATE: The UVA shelter in place order has been lifted based upon a thorough search on and around Grounds. A large police presence will remain.

Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. is now in custody in connection with mass shooting on UVA Grounds.

31-year-old Bryan Silva was arrested this evening in Cville for making social media threats against UVA. "At this time, CPD does not believe at this time Mr. Silva’s threats were related to the tragic events that occurred last night at the University of Virginia."

UVA students are currently working to paint Beta Bridge. They say they’re painting “UVA strong” on the bridge.

NEW: One of the two victims of Sunday night's shooting at the University of Virginia has been released from the hospital, per UVA Health. The other victim remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Despite the threat, the memorial is still scheduled to continue as planned.

BREAKING: The UVA and Virginia Tech football game has been canceled.

A TSA officer was shocked to find an orange cat inside a checked bag at John F. Kennedy Airport after it went through the X-ray unit. Traveler said the cat belonged to someone else in his household. On the bright side, the cat’s out of the bag and safely back home.
