High grade gliomas (HGG) are the leading cause of cancer death in children. Our latest preclinical study shows how the ketogenic diet can enhance therapeutic action while reducing toxicity of cancer drugs used for managing pediatric HGG.(doi.org/10.1101/2023.0…)

New book folks. It was inspired by the life of Richard Veech. It's a historical narrative leading to present ketone science. I think its an urgent message, now that we know covid-19 is much more severe in people with metabolic dysfunction.

The evolution of my thinking over the past week. I wrote this as an internal memo last week to our team. I'm sharing it broadly now in an effort to explain some common questions, namely, have we over-reacted? (answer: it's not so simple)

20 years ago when I was doing my first NYT Magazine article on obesity, George Cahill, former science director of HHMI, told me Veech was the smartest graduate student he'd ever had. Studied with Krebs. Did remarkable, unheralded work.

Please read Travis Christofferson’s memoriam to Dr. Richard Veech, a giant in the field of biochemistry. Dr. Veech discovered the mechanism by which ketone bodies enhance mitochondrial energy metabolism and reduce chronic diseases.

Denise! Agree. Problem is researchers' ideology is seldom (if ever) disclosed. If they were, I think they'd be cited more often as a corruptive force. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…

Part three on pathological science. What's left when you remove the institutionalized skepticism from the process of science? If anything? bit.ly/2qQlW7G
