Would recommend Channel 4 documentary the school that tried to end racism. It’s highlights how important our role is as educators in tackling unconscious racial bias. Intervening at a young age is crucial if we are to target and change attitudes towards race.

Hope all teachers and leaders are still able to have a mo to themselves before diving in. You continue to support pupils and their parents and carers and we are so grateful. You offer support and direction and this is so hard when there are so many decisions to make. Thank you.

I can’t even remember how many times I’ve watched Frozen 2 and Hamilton this weekend.... it’s been such a great way to destress after a very intense second week of Summer Institute #tfsi2020 #TfNW Bring on week 3 tomorrow!!

Question for #edutwitter: What rules and routines do you think are beneficial to implement in the classroom to create a strong classroom culture? Also are there any rules that you wouldn’t want to implement/ didn’t work for you? #teachertwitter #teamenglish

Just had my final UoM seminar, whilst I’m very excited to be in a new region, it’s sad to know I won’t have seminars with all the friends i’ve made in the NW #tfsi2020 #tfNW

Today has definitely shown me that I chose the right career path!! I met my colleagues, toured my school, came away with a pile of books to read and got to wander down memory lane with the AQA poetry anthology 😍 Roll on September!! 🥳🥳💕#TFSI20 #teachfirstEM #newteacher

Is anyone else of the age in life where if someone suggests you watch a film you look at your watch and see that it’s 8:30pm and think it’s a risk?

It was the text we studied in the 1st half term and we’ve finished it off during our teacher read lesson on Fridays.... it was so lovely to see their reactions to the text and to hear their thoughts!! Fantastic way to end my first few months as a teacher!!

I survived my first term!! Can’t believe I’ve made it this far, but does anyone feel like it’s getting more stressful by the day rather than easier now that the first term is over? (The amount of people that told me that it gets easier as soon as the first term is over is crazy)

I am after some help please.I work in Secondary & trying to promote reading in the home in order to raise year 7 cohorts reading age.Any ideas on how to engage parents in this as facing a lot of apathy and disengagement at the moment;obviously not able to get parents into school.
