Updated forecast for additional snowfall accumulations and wind gusts for tonight. Heavy lake effect snow with blizzard conditions continues northeast of the lakes tonight. The lake effect bands will not be stationary, but instead slowly drift southward overnight.

Just wrapped up a zoom call with town supervisors & mayors. Reports from central and southern Erie County are whiteout conditions with heavy snow. There are still dozens at various warming shelters in worst areas. The Driving Ban is still in effect for ALL of Erie County.

The snow ban has unfortunately moved north again and has intensified, though still south of the worst impacted areas. Our Erie County DPW crews report that snow is falling at a rate of 2-3" per hour and whiteout conditions persist.

The wake and funeral services for fallen Buffalo Firefighter Jason Arno have been announced by Buffalo Professional Firefighters. Firefighter Arno's wake will be held on Thurs., March 9 at the Amigone Funeral Home. His funeral will be held on Fri., March 10 at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Buffalo. 1/2
