Graduation from medical school is not the end of your learning. Continuing Professional Development is a requirement for all practising doctors. The Learning, development and self-discipline topic includes reflection, planning CPD, self-awareness and deliberate practice. #BDBP

10% patients admitted acutely to NHS hospitals will have a patient safety incident. The Patient safety and quality improvement topic highlight some of the common sources of risk, and outlines approaches to both risk management and to quality improvement. #BDBP

Handover and "formal" communication is the third topic. The importance of good note-keeping, discharge summaries and written referrals is highlighted. Time is spent discussing how to improve handover, with reference to the I-PASS approach. #BDBP

Non-technical skills are the fourth topic, exploring the components of effective teamwork are covered and practical tips. #BDBP
