So proud of these York Minster Choir choristers, not just for learning Singet dem Herrn and nailing it today, but also for absolutely loving and relishing every moment of it. Nervous, excited smiles before, delighted smiles afterwards.
Little trip down to Hastings for the first of four recitals in as many days to open their summer recital series. Music from #Byrd to Iain Farrington which went down particularly well!

First performance tonight York Minster of my transcription of Heather Hill by Constance Warren. She was a distant relative of mine, but still remembered in the family, and it will be special to have several family members there to hear it. Here's a taster.

This is an extraordinary piece. The effects and sounds of the guitar are at times scarcely believable, and contrast with choral writing which is at one moment shimmering and warm, at the next thrilling and stark. Perhaps a unique chance to hear it in York Minster on Saturday.
Well, here is a superb opportunity to join the best team as Development Director during my maternity leave next year, working with the incredible @annavkent & Katy Ashman. Join us and transform lives through our incredible choral tradition 👇
We have a special visitor for this evening's service of Choral Evensong - Alexander Armstrong on his Choral Adventure with Cathedral Music Trust! 🎶 Alexander interviewed our team of musicians about what makes cathedral music so special - an experience he shares as an ex-chorister.
This is perhaps our favourite photo of the tour so far. Alexander Armstrong & Ben Morris warming up on the radiator after Evensong… best seat in the house!
