At 2.30am on Monday 9 July, fire alarms ring out at the Minster, automatically alerting North Yorkshire Fire Services who dispatched a team to tackle the blaze.

I look at this photo and inside I weep, not just for my own lost youth, but for a Church which allowed this choir to be swept away by liturgical fashion in the 80/90s...and all in the cause of making church more accessible to young people. Oh, the irony. The deeply sad irony.

Donkeys and a crowd of people can only mean one thing….
