Don't you just hate it when you do "a good healthy thing" and it actually helps? Going for a walk was really nice today! Getting exercise and sunlight is super important, even in this #covid19UK era.

Since 1949, May is observed as #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth. Mental illnesses do not discriminate & you are not weak if you reach out. 1 in 5 adults have a mental health condition while 56% of American adults with a mental illness do not receive treatment.

This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek I think it’s important to say although awareness and talking is vital we also NEED to shine a light on the lack of services. 3 year waiting lists in my area, thats NOT ACCEPTABLE We need to speak about the lives lost due to lack of support.

It's #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek - this year we're focusing on the fact that #KindnessMatters. In these difficult times, it's never been more important that we're kind to ourselves and support our family and friends with their #mentalhealth and wellbeing. Help us spread the word.

Joining the ever growing movement of people fed up with #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. We have awareness, we are all aware. Yet every year services remain stretched and underfunded. People die sat on waiting lists. Kindness isn’t enough anymore, we need adequate treatment.

It's ok to worry about yourself It's ok to ask for help It's ok to talk It's ok to be pissed off that a government that continues to 'raise awareness' refuses to properly fund the services we need to help us get to a stage of recovery the bastards #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

Kindness is especially important to focus on while our lives are turned upside down due to #COVID19. But we need more. Mental health services need more funding, more support, more staff, higher salaries. Support the NHS with more than clapping. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

"There's surviving, and then there's living." I love this. Mental health treatment can be so focused on getting you back to a basic functional life but being able to truly live even a little, no matter your current health, is so important. #StarTrekSNW

If there's one thing my social anxiety has taught me, it's that people matter. My "cottage in the middle of nowhere filled with cats and books" fantasy should probably stay a fantasy.

As a mentally ill person I feel trapped between full time work which I'm too unwell for and financial difficulty with no safety net. This country hates us. Don't call yourself an advocate for suicide prevention if you aren't for a universal basic income.

There's a bad take going round about "actually trying". 1) It's bullshit. Mentally ill and disabled people work SO DAMN HARD just to survive. 2) Proving to others that you're "trying" can be exhausting, destructive, and it's never good enough. Fuck trying.
