Throw it FASTER is oftentimes a more helpful cue than HARDER. The second one causes some guys to muscle up and get tight, while the first is typically more fluid.

The earlier a kid can feel what it's like to work from the ground up, the sooner he can learn how to swing/throw properly. Even before Olympic lifts, teach jumps, sprints, med ball throws...anything that sequences from bottom to top and results in a powerful and ballistic move.

Desire to be good means nothing. Desire to work incredibly hard to be better than you were yesterday is all that matters. Get to work.

It will take a lot of bad days at the plate to get scratched off a recruiters list, but one bad attitude will do it right then and there. Have great body language and be a great teammate, especially when things aren't going well.

Baseball is a game, and baseball is a blast. Never forget that because one day you'll be done playing it, and you'll miss it like crazy. #enjoythegame

There's never been a better reason to finally develop a great at-home routine. Identify priorities, get the equipment you need, and create a plan to follow everyday. It's never been enough just to go to practice/lessons. Replace 'off days' with personal development days.

Hitters, your are on OFFENSE when you're at the plate. Too many of you are hesitant, late, reactionary. Stop fighting off pitches. Get in there to ATTACK a fastball in the place you want it, and be on time when you get it.

Don't let the tee or short toss rob you of your load and stride, those are your two most important timing mechanisms. Imagine a pitcher on every swing, and be in the same rhythm as you would be in competition.

It can't be said enough; the number of swings or throws you make is not nearly as important as the quality of each of them. Slow down and focus on teaching your body the right way to do things.

Knowing something does you no good at all if you don't put it into action. Knowing that catch play is important, knowing that every swing matters, knowing that you need to be positive and confident...absolutely worthless on its own. Commit to DOING, not just knowing.

What you focus on expands. If you focus on problems and complaints, you will live a problem and complaint filled life. But if you focus on solutions and positivity, your life will become one big solution to every problem.
