Friends Bible Study: “Modern Christians rarely have to worry about eating food sacrificed to idols. But what are some similar practices in our own culture that may be “permissible” but not “beneficial?” See 1 Corinthians 10:23. Illuminate Barclay Press

In 1970, I asked a question of Elmer Brown, then executive secretary of Cambridge Friends Meeting in Massachusetts. “How do I know when to join and become a Quaker?” He answered me, “You don’t become a Quaker; you discover you are one.” -Eric Muhr. Barclay Press Eric Muhr

Love thy neighbors Barclay Press Eric Muhr Elmer Brown was a lovely kind man, and I can well imagine him saying that. He grew up in the Midwest, son of a Quaker pastor and then pastored himself, then chose to take the Cambridge job that specifically did not include any role in worship.

I had a wonderful time at Friends Bible Study. “In examining Scripture, Dr. Poling observed that there R examples of diverse types of forgiveness, & not all of them look like the popular idea of Forgiveness.” Barclay Press

Another wonderful Friends Bible Study based on the Minor Prophets. “We know that God is love, that Christ leads us toward redemption, and that as #Quakers, it is our lives, not just our mouths, that are supposed to preach.” Leigh Tolton Barclay Press
