I’m thinking a lot about this. What do we do with the realization that the one who told us to love our enemies was, by the accounts we have, not so nice to his own?

As a Quaker I still feel uncomfortable when I visit a place of worship that displays the National Flag. So I’m curious does the National flag belong in a place of Worship?

The evil of racism might begin in the heart, but the heart of its evil is found in social policies. Treating the heart is an important, but incomplete tactic in dismantling it. A change in the heart must lead to social change. But social change can’t wait for a change of heart.

@paulbayes @paulbayes Indeed. I am reminded of this by Cory Booker: "Before you speak to me about your religion, first show it to me in how you treat other people...". Our faith(s)/beliefs surely have their outworking in the conduct of our lives, and in the application of our love.

Russell 🥩☀️ The strawman is Jesus. What kind of gun/sword was He packing? The way of the Empire will lead us to cling to guns/swords/violence—may we cling to & follow Jesus instead, even when it makes us uncomfortable.

As I said last year… If you’re starting with the premise that Donald Trump is a completely innocent, billionaire, ex-President then you have to ask yourself, where are all the lawyers?

“No one should ever have to go hungry—especially in a wealthy nation. Unfortunately, far too many of our neighbors struggle to put food on the table. Yet the U.S. relies on industrial agriculture, which is a huge contributor to greenhouse gas emissions” #AFSC

Friendly Bible Study Group is studying Mark. We use Barclay Press Illuminate Series. Barclay Press Last night we were drawn to the parable of the Wineskins. What do you think the parable “No one puts New Wine into an Old Wineskin means?
