I've often thought back to Samuel Johnson's idea of being misled by meteors mistaken for stars. But I realize I missed the second point about the meteors that draw us aside from whirlpools. That is indeed the universal uncertainty. Is the good we are pursuing evil in disguise?

Rory is right. It's never made sense to me that we accommodate all kinds of accessibility needs in hotels -- except for the vast numbers who struggle to read in low light! Last week I stayed in a hotel that had zero lights by the bed!
