As a panellist during the 10th Session of the #RighttoDevelopment Expert Mechanism, Amb. Hermanns 🇧🇸stressed the critical human rights, trade & environment nexus for #SIDS. If we ignore the links, we ignore the realities facing communities on the frontlines of #climatechange.

At the 2024 #SocialForum Amb. Hermanns 🇧🇸shared the perspective of Caribbean #SIDS to ensure that #financingfordevelopment upholds #humanrightsforall incl. the #righttodevelopment thru reform of the int'l financial architecture, moving beyond GDP & pursuing a #humanrightseconomy.

At the briefing by Mr. W. O’Neil, UN Human Rights Expert on Haiti, The #Bahamas 🇧🇸 reaffirmed solidarity w/ #Haiti & called on the int’l community to prioritize int’l cooperation, combat arms trafficking + support at-risk youth, ensuring progress toward a Haitian-led solution.

At the UN Human Rights Council 7️⃣th Intersessional Meeting on Human Rights & the #SDGs, Amb. Patricia Hermanns participated as a panellist addressing strategies for #SIDS to tackle the debt-climate trap, the ongoing debt architecture review + ways for #SIDS to maximize our collective impact.
