The reason why there’s no negotiating when it comes to FGM is because it’s irreversible. Once it’s done, it’s done and there’s no predicting what the consequences will be. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I began experiencing health complications that are likely FGM related.

I am so angry man! So pissed! Because how dare you touch my child knowing fully well I don’t want her to go through FGM. Walahi our institutional failure makes me so sad for Gambian women!
