Corporate businessmen, who do not come from an entertainment background, took over the business. They have no incentive to care about workers, build a sustainable pipeline of talent, or produce quality, legacy brand content. Their only goal is short term profit margins.

Gen Z may not know this, but there were once coffee shops that only served drip coffee, had a random old couches that were never clean, stayed open until 4am, and their clientele was composed of exclusively college students and recovering alcoholics
