Through pain, tears, struggles, lack of confidence, imposter syndrome, difficult but necessary growth, and lots of labor, I did it. This Sunday, I’ll officially have a Davidson College degree. I “got out” but I will never forget the present suffering in communities like mine.

What my time Davidson College lead to. A college degree, I became part of an amazing, questioning and growing community, I developed my beliefs, I was cared for, I worked toward institutional growth, and learned about my role as a community member. Grateful and proud!

I live in a neighborhood with a lot of teachers & last night so many of them were on their porches finishing letters of recommendation for students applying early action (Nov 1st deadline) while passing out candy to trick-or-treaters. Shout out to teachers. Can't be said enough.

Shoutout to Senator Dick Durbin for coming to the Supreme Court to support the future of DACA. He’s been an advocate from the beginning and introduced the DREAM Act. I’m a DACA recipient and a teacher at a title 1 school. My students deserve a teacher!
