Children under 2 aren't supposed to have any technology time. Technology use under 3 can actually slow language acquisition, and can be very harmful. -Myers #tedxtopeka

Children who spend more time online spend less time with their family and friends. It can also lead to less academic success and more conflict with their peers. -Myers #tedxtopeka

Children's color vision is being effected, and they can't see the full spectrum of the rainbow. The screens emit blue light that is harming their eyes and can cause sleep disruption. -Myers #tedxtopeka

Technology of course has it's uses. But adults have a different mind than that of a child. We know our limits. Children don't - they're curious, and will push the threshold of what's acceptable and what isn't. -Myers #tedxtopeka

If we don't set our children up for the future, then we're setting them up for failure. If we want to help them, we must build a real relationship, not a virtual one. Play outside with them. Teach them to view technology as a tool, not as a way to play. -Myers #tedxtopeka
