Reading this amazing article from Erica Kanesaka 兼坂えりか 🌸 ("Racist Attachments: Dakko-chan, Black Kitsch, and Kawaii Culture") and I am finding so many parallels with US anime fandom's acceptance/refusal of anime racialized identity.
