New paper up on the arxiv! Led by former PhD student Jack Humphries, we ask under what conditions ALMA would be able to detect pre collapse GI protoplanets - you can read it here: arxiv.org/abs/2008.04014

It’s almost as if Leicester didn’t pave the way for U.K. based space science, isn’t about to have a space science park, hasn’t led development of NASA instrumentation with SWRI... FYI, corridors are corridors, look the same at any uni!

Excited to announce our paper is on arXiv this morning after being accepted to MNRAS! We use Monte-Carlo radiative transfer models to analyse the impact of dust trapping on our ability to detect spiral substructure in self-gravitating discs. arxiv.org/abs/2008.09826

Dear astronomy community, we have, and for a long time, have had, a problem. There lacks a structure to protect junior scientists from speaking out regarding issues of sexual harassment and bullying. Please see this thread and lend your support.

Hello all! It is #LGBT history month in the USA, and I would love it if any #LGBTQIA scientists from any field would participate in our display here at UGA! We just need a slide from you, takes 10 mins, and we will showcase your science! DM me to participate!

Happy Saturday to everyone except the MRI tech who misheard my Huy Hoang music request as Belinda Carlisle and I spent 45 minutes in a small metal tube just me, my claustrophobia, and “heaven is a place on Earth” on repeat

A little while ago, I did a TEDx talk on the work we are doing at UGA using AI to find the hidden birth of exoplanets. You can watch it here :) youtube.com/watch?v=Sk8g3M…
