Our human nature desires to participate in the salvific work of God. The only problem with this thought is it is heresy. When you participate in your own salvation, you don’t need Jesus because you are your own god. Only, you do not have the power to save yourself.

Healing comes through courageously reaching through the vail to touch the pain underneath the ugly tears. We will heal. We will grow.

You don’t go to God because He’s useful, you go because He’s beautiful. And nothing is more useful than finding God beautiful.

Spent a week in the #south and it was more different than I realized. Very interesting. I definitely realize I need to better know my #American history on the Civil War.

Started writing a book this week on how to show God’s love. Very challenging and exciting at the same time!

Here is a line I've been working on... "When we need to be right more than we desire to show love, we rob people of experiencing the hospitality of God that they desperately need." Thoughts?

Earlier this week I explained to someone curious about Christianity, why Christians today are acting out the battle scene in Armageddon rather than the forgiveness scene when Jesus says "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." Love first.

Legalism is a barrier toward expressing love. It creates and sustains a sense of superiority that stokes the fire of elitism in our heats. Resist it my friends.

Every time I think I am doing pretty good on my own personal journey, I learn there is another curve in the road. I am slowly learning to love the curves and the journey.

Watched a lot of Christmas movies on Christmas... not a lot of "Christ" in the movies. Felt weird. Seemed disingenuous. Just call them Holiday Movies 🤷🏽‍♂️

A phrase I wrote today that I like "Diversity in its purest form means different. To be open when showing God’s love is to be open to “different” in whatever form God brings across your path."

I am more and more convinced that in most cases, you cannot be a disciple of Jesus without being a disciple of someone else first. Someone is teaching you something. Be careful who you learn from.
