Perhaps surprising result but a 5-city study shows that 24.7% cars are improperly parked vs only 0.8% of scooters and bicycles! #micromobility sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Chicago city reports that perhaps 51% of car trips could be replaced by micromobility. Their pilot showed that 42% of riders decreased ride-hail use. Cities are clearly going towards fewer cars: smartcitiesdive.com/news/chicago-c…

The tech investment pendulum is swinging back from hype to fundamentals. Therefore companies will increasingly compete on what they can sustainably offer to customers, not only on their ability to fundraise. Great for Bolt and most European startups. 🚀 techcrunch.com/2020/05/26/bol…

To have better cities we need to build a great alternative to everybody buying a car. A core part of that are *affordable* light electric vehicles that cover all distances, not only under 5km. Excited for today's launch in Paris! 🚲 forbes.com/sites/jonathan…

Your regular reminder that mobility in cities is about space. We still need to move more people with much less space, real safety & equity, less public money & fewer emissions. If we drive more after the #coronavirus pandemic, our future gets much worse. pic.x.com/dPIuZ4Sfcb

Does ANYONE STILL THINK that one street parking space was creating more value, more public life, more simple humanity & happiness, more general public interest, more “success” in any way we might define that word, when all it did was store one car?

Paris is quickly becoming a city where transportation doesn't mean any more just cars. Very interesting to see where it goes.

The typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/4th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, & most of the energy that does, moves the car, not people. Sound efficient? #CityMakingMath

No, bikes are not the new toilet paper. Toilet paper was overbought & hoarded because of fear. Bikes are being bought because real people are starting to see a better way.

Climate neutrality is so yesterday. The new target here is to be climate positive. Yes, this means that Bolt will make sure there'll be more trees planted than needed based on the trips taken. So every trip with Bolt scooters will make the world a little bit better place again.

In the time of electricity and transportation revolutions it's refreshing to re-introduce walking as means to move around the city! My oh my! :) #bolt #walkingthetalk

We’re happy to present the newest addition to our scooter family. Welcome, Bolt 4! 🛴 🎉 This scooter includes sensors that detect accidents, falls, sharp braking, and unsafe riding patterns, making it the safest scooter on the market. 🙌 techcrunch.com/2020/12/02/bol…

I think there's even more interesting fact in the study that is overlooked - 33% of the respondents drive 0-50 miles/week. You don't need a car for that at all. Could easily be taken care by a micromobility product to save 95% of energy and emissions.

WHO tells us that 50% of trips are less than 5km. Perfect for micromobility. This means we should have roads for micromobility taking up more space than the occasional painted strip getting curses from car drivers and pedestrians alike...
