8th December is a long time away for 6 cottages, the rest of the farm has power, it would seem a simple fix? One premature baby, one vulnerable elderly person. Northern Powergrid @annietrev

#Potato 2022 crop risk. The effect of last years cold spring will have bigger effects on crop size this year than last. How? If seed is younger the number of stems (& therefore tubers) is reduced. Our model shows reductions of 10-40% depending on variety. Contact us for info.

Up to 1,000t of illegal potato seed was imported into the UK. Growers who plant the seed could face prosecution for breaching biosecurity rules 🥔 #clubhectare fwi.co.uk/arable/potatoe…

Had a small gathering in Staffordshire last night to hear about BASF Agricultural Solutions UK potato products in the pipeline, and also to discuss current #potato challenges (there's a few!) and opportunities (there's a few of those also).

191 #potato trial plots lifted last week between the showers; 33 plots graded and defect assessed. Not a bad effort from the Produce Solutions team. Great to see some positive yields in our #PotatoCystNematode (#PCN) tolerance and resistance screening trial!

#Potato growers - if you’ve got w.wheat fields like this, or you don’t want to drill “Cuckoo barley” - why not consider taking the opportunity to reduce #PCN populations by growing a #DeCyst trap crop
