‼️Patients of the U.K.‼️ If you have a GP appt or attend a hospital today , please check if the staff member seeing you is a physician assistant (PA) They also use the physician ‘ associate’ title . If it IS a PA then ask for a Doctor . Don’t be fobbed off .

UK medical graduates are being shut out of becoming GPs & consultants in their own home country. They trained here, worked here, and carry £100,000 in student loans; but the Government has not yet prioritised them for UK specialist training. Every year, a strict Government

Saying pay is not on the table in a pay dispute is not negotiating. Fixing the training job crisis is your job, it’s embarrassing that a dispute even had to be opened. Just increase doctors’ pay to the point where a new doctor is only paid a little less than an assistant role 🙏🏻

Department of Health and Wes Streeting are choosing to pay £67k to non-doctors to replace and pretend to be doctors to deliver worse outcomes for you and your loved ones There’s many spineless doctors who have enabled this over the years too But if you, as the public want the

Dr Jinnie Shin 🦀 Why is there no money to fund jobs for actual doctors, but there is a magic money tree to fund jobs for non-doctors (ACPs, ANPs,PAs etc)? Wes Streeting Non-doctors do not have the knowledge, qualifications or training to replace doctors It's unregulated And it's unsafe

Dr Haseena Wazir (@drhwazir) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Wes Streeting would rather spend £250 million covering the cost of strikes than take real action to get unemployed doctors back to work. Thousands of doctors are sitting at home unable to progress because of government caps on speciality training places, the only route to

Holding doctors’ jobs ransom whilst patients can’t access doctors and waiting lists soar, is a disgraceful position for a health secretary to adopt. Wes is right, strikes have a cost. And at £250m a pop, he’d be better off tabling a credible offer that addresses pay and jobs.🤷🏻‍♂️

I see the ‘Spin Doctor’ is busy this morning Remember people we need Doctors for patient care Real Doctors In 4 years (max) Wes will be gone & you won’t have a Doctor because he’ll have cut more training posts, which have already been cut Doctors are unemployed or leaving

A bit of background info on Wes Streeting that you won’t have been given in his TV interviews today - particularly in regard to discussions about junior doctors and the NHS There will have been no mention of the amount of money Wes has received from wealthy private healthcare

Waiting lists are eye-wateringly long but 1/3 consultant posts are unfilled. £674 million on locum spend. The problem isn’t a lack of doctors, it’s a choice not to hire them.

How many patients know this? In 2025 there were 91,999 applications for just 12,833 training posts. Thousands of doctors who want to be your next GPs and A&E doctors were shut out. So when you wait months for an appointment/12hrs in A&E, remember this is the government’s choice

Resident doctors are owed a fair wage, not a pay cut. It’s you, the public, who’ll suffer. Doctor replacement has long been planned, helped by cutting training places. The well-off will self-pay or go private, while others are left with an alphabet soup of “noctor” practitioners!

The best way for the government to end the doctor strikes is to offer a multi year pay deal towards full pay restoration. It is crazy they refuse to pay doctors £23/hr, less than a physician assistant. £18/hr -> £23/hr over a number of years is as reasonable as it can get.

GPs are asking for funding so that patients can have greater access to GPs You will hear something different from Wes Streeting Stephen Kinnock Department of Health and Social Care They will say that there is more funding & GPs but there isn’t anywhere near enough of either They aren’t telling you the truth

While you wait weeks to see a GP, NHS doctors in England are being forced into unemployment; blocked by Government caps that stop them from furthering their training to become specialist Consultants/GPs. This year, there were around 30,000 doctors applying for 10,000 speciality
