If someone's main worry is the reintroduction of masks and testing at this point after 3 jabs, then they are pretty lucky. Most normal people's biggest worry is the rising cost of fuel, food and energy.

Why are so many scientists and others, who supposedly support keeping kids in school, continuously downplaying the effectiveness of vaccination, demanding removal of masks, not advocating for ventilation - in short doing things which damage our children's education prospects?

I suspect current wave will peak next week - helped greatly by school term finishing & nicer weather. but still a few million more people infected, 1000s more admissions and 10,000s more long covid cases to show for it. But what level will the plateau be at? & when's next one?

Back at over 2000 English hospital admissions for the first time since early Jan. Seems so wrong that so much surveillance is ending next month, free testing is going and SAGE has been stood down.

Today's 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿admissions figure has topped 2,000 for the first time since Jan 11th, and at 2,098 is up 17% on a week ago. At 1,840 the weekly average will hit the early Jan peak with a further 11% growth - the current rate is 20% per week, although it's falling slowly. 1/
