So much smearing & belittling of consultants in the press, but this, from today’s The Times and The Sunday Times letters page, could not have put it more beautifully. Pls RT if you agree. #NHS 💙

Removing a trade union representative from a locum group chat and then retrospectively deleting their messages is not a good look Leicester's Hospitals. Trade union representatives have protection against detriment under the TULRCA. I would advise you remind Mr Butt of that.

Let's get this straight. A democratically elected trade union rep asked if senior doctors have also been asked to help cover, and they were removed? Why are Leicester's Hospitals not seeking consultant cover during strikes? Mr Mitchell, sort it.

In the run up to this round of Resident Doctors strike action NHS England were encouraging NHS trusts to run non-urgent planned care - which we warned would run the risk of staffing levels not being safe Now they seek to shift blame for those staffing levels to the BMA - outrageous

The People That’s including working weekends/nights and past your standard 37.5 hours a week. 1. Paid 10k less than our assistants 2. £17/18 /hr - criminal behaviour 3. Don’t compare to the national average as there’s nothing average about doctors.

Awful language from Wes Streeting Is this what we are to expect from The Labour Party - waging war against unions and their members?

James Steen Jonathan Ashworth Resident Doctors The fact that the journo’s love to still refer to us as ‘Juniors’ just proves how it had become a derogatory and misleading term.

Arun Baksi Oh look another elderly consultant with no student loans, a guaranteed job, no pay erosion and a final salary pension throwing their tuppence worth in. Easy to “serve” when you don’t have to worry about all of that.

Recently The Independent exposed Great Ormond Street Hospital using Physician Assistants to replace doctors. My FOI adds: in 6 months, 41 doctor shifts were filled by PAs/ACPs, not doctors. Doctor shifts should only be filled by doctors, not cheaper substitutes.
