Bravest of the brave: RIP D-Day warrior Harry Howarth, 103, from Southport, who has died just weeks before he was set to pay his respects to fallen brothers in arms at the 80th anniversary commemorations in Normandy. Lest we forget. British Normandy Memorial
EXCL: MPs who stubbornly refuse to back assisted dying reform could suffer the consequences at the ballot box - Dignity in Dying. Sarah Wootton has warned of the consequences of failing to notice the tide had turned & a majority of people now want the right to die on their terms
Excl: MPs blocking moves to allow assisting dying will be forever known as cowards - Jonathan Dimbleby. 'What they should not do is to sit on their hands, resisting the chance to debate the issue openly in parliament or to introduce legislation to meet the will of the people.'
In his just-published newsletter Tory Rt Hon Johnny Mercer sounds more hopeful than optimistic about defending his Plymouth seat [majority 12,897] at the general election. He says: 'I look forward to a romping campaign where I will give it everything...and see what happens.'
Excl: John Caudwell savages Sunak in a blistering attack on his competence to run the economy...and the UK in a devastating blow to Tories. The billionaire businessman says: 'If I were on the board of UK Plc, Rishi would have been out of a job long ago.'

Excl: In a scandal shaming Britain hundreds of thousands of frail & forgotten OAPs are receiving substandard care as they languish in failing facilities. 1 in 5 care homes now rated inadequate or requires improvement - despite charging £1k a week Age UK Ros Altmann CareRightsUK
'Excuse me, doctor, I have got an obese child who is mainly fed junk because I don't know how to cook anything healthy or nutritious. Can you help?' Another damning indictment of Britain's childhood obesity epidemic. 4/10 primary school kids are overweight. Dr David Unwin Dr Jen Unwin-Fork in the Road
And all the while Department of Health and Social Care falls over itself to say 'we are taking firm action to tackle obesity...in October 2022 we introduced locations restrictions, which mean less healthy food can no longer be placed in key selling locations in supermarkets'.
Any wonder UK is losing the battle against childhood obesity when Krispy Kreme, KitKat & Aero partner to trumpet 'delicious new doughnuts perfect for a breather in the middle of the day'. The Aero has 32g of sugar per 89g serving...for £3.25 Dr David Unwin Dr Jen Unwin-Fork in the Road Henry Dimbleby
A perfectly time messaged that will send the killjoy, nanny state alarmists at NHS England into meltdown. People should be free to make informed choices, not ordered what to do from those who think they know best
This is disingenuous to say the least. A decade ago Jeremy Hunt promised an extra 6,000 doctors. In the 10 years hence there are 3,000 fewer. So, all told, the UK is short of 9,000 GPs. The methodology to which Department of Health and Social Care refers is simple - there ain’t enough docs to meet demand
EXCL: What's up doc? Diabetes guru Dr David Unwin: 'My meeting with Streeting could save lives and the cash-strapped NHS tens of millions...and it really isn't rocket science'. Britain's top GP on why we're losing the Battle of the bulge and how we can beat it
