On 22 April 1993, Stephen Lawrence, just 18 years old was murdered in an unprovoked, brutal racist attack.   His family have all fought tirelessly for justice. Let us remember Stephen in our hearts.

PIP was taken off me when I had my review, after informing them I’d also been diagnosed with autism and arthritis (after struggling with both quietly for years) alongside bipolar disorder. It was still taken away, even though these conditions will never fade, and I had evidence.

This piece of journalism highlights the issues with our current governance. The question is: do you agree with Rishi ?. I dont expect many to comment, as the govt don't does not like health professionals who criticise them ... but it does give pause for thought.

Getting off a flight , I politely asked a woman in the aisle “Ma’am could you hand me my crutch ?” (from the overhead bin). She looked down at me and said “if you say pleeease”. Being infantilized as a disabled person is jaw dropping. I’m 31 and I run a company.

So many on here who think unpaid carers are scroungers taking your money.

We literally save you the tax payer £162 billion a year in social care fees.

So if we all stopped caring then where do you think that money will come from?

Please engage brains before trolling

100 per cent needs a collective response from RCOT Campaigns, Policy & Public Affairs . Would be great to co produce response with members. I will raise this as part of work force strategy.

Knew a nurse who took a job doing work assessments

She told me about the culture

She’s a good person and didn’t last five minutes amidst that cruelty

There is nothing to stop Esther Rantzen killing herself, no law, no code.
can you imagine what assisted suicide as a policy will mean under a government like ours, attacking older and disabled people constantly?

You do realise that hard working tax payers can also become disabled and then need to make use of the benefits system they’ve paid into - don’t you????

When you come for mental health claimants, you don't come for someone feigning depression or anxiety as you are led to believe.

You come for people who are suffering desperately, who have been repeatedly and intrusively assessed, who already have thoughts of being expendable.

I’ve written may be fit for work AHP reports - to guide fit notes. Often it has been the employers saying no to addressing the maybes usually because they want someone back full time doing everything they were before - or not at all. How will you address that Rishi Sunak?

PIP has nothing to do with employment.

PIP is for moderate to severe disability and it is v difficult to qualify for.

It is not something one can blag. I research this.

Sunak's idea people can go off PIP with treatment is wild and dangerous. It is disability denial,no less.

Our PM has decided he wants to end ‘sick note culture’.

As a form of protest I’m wondering if I can start signing people off because they’re sick of the government?

What is a “non-medical professional” in this context?

The culture of unqualified people being seen as qualified in mental health care has gone too far and this is just the latest ramification

I don’t think it happens in other specialties theguardian.com/politics/2024/…

Respectfully I think we need to tackle the ableism in our society if you hope to get people back to work. One example don’t remove the work from home option that was afforded to people during lockdowns that enabled disabled people to work!
