#IfWeDoNotRise to stand up against AGEISM, children’s #agency will not receive due respect, children’s #choices will not be honoured, children’s #voices will remain unheard, and children’s #RightToParticipation will not be upheld.

#IfWeDoNotRise for the #RightToEducation of the majority of children in India who do not have access to laptops and smartphones and high-speed internet in a haplessly mismanaged pandemic crisis, the self-confidence and aspirations of an entire generation will be compromised.

#IfWeDoNotRise to demand a central focus upon children in the National Budget, we choose to limit the infinite potentials of young minds, shrink their opportunities and possibilities, clip their wings and steal their dreams, and de-prioritise the future of the nation.

#IfWeDoNotRise to protect children’s #RightToParticipation, at all levels, in the decisions that effect them the most, we compromise on the principals of #agency and #representation that are the hallmarks of a democracy.

#IfWeDoNotRise for the #RightToNutrition of 20crore+ children who depend for basic nutrition on the Midday Meals and Anganwadi Schemes, that were shut down with no recourse in the lockdown, we jeopardise the physiological, neurological, and psychological growth of the nation.
