I just interviewed Judy Blume and she cried and I cried and at the end she told me "you're really good at this" so I think I can retire now

Just unintentionally laughed on the air for the first time in years. It was the fault of the recently retired Mr. Buddy Johnson, who tried (and succeeded) in making me do this. I know it sounded odd. Back to serious news voice!

Got a chance to report on this kidnapping hoax story for NPR. Here’s hoping that she gets some help, and that it doesn’t deter volunteers from helping with urgent searches in the future.

Another update for NPR on the #CarleeRussell case. She now faces 2 misdemeanor charges for an alleged kidnapping hoax earlier this month. She’s been released on bond.

one of my 7th graders just brought back a book and said "I realized I didn't like scary books," as they checked out a happy romance. And, yet again, this is why WE TRUST STUDENTS WITH THEIR OWN READING CHOICES. I cannot stress enough that kids GET this.

It’s easy to treat the media as a punching bag. But look to the nation’s local newsrooms. For little money or recognition, reporters in 2023 stood up to power brokers who tried to bully them into silence, exposed corrupt officials and even saved lives. Proof, from every state:

I never would have imagined that my son, Geologist Daniel Robinson, would have gone missing. He has many dreams and aspirations, which he shared with me on many occasions during our two-hour talks. I would love to see Daniel complete those. Please help share his story. GOD Bless!
