Great afternoon out with Highland Newt looking for white-faced darter larvae for Anna Muir. We found lots but were so focused on our work that I forgot to photograph any, so here's a newly emerged Northern emerald instead!

Awesome to be out in Scotland in the sunshine for fieldwork at the start of the month, collecting White-faced darter larvae. My mini fieldwork assistants are now Sphagnum experts. Connectivity and management unit results to follow!

Thanks to Anna Muir for this weekend's challenge, successfully accomplished with Highland Newt and Colin Hall. We found a new site for white-faced darter, and collected samples for genetic analysis, as well as two new sites for northern emerald in a previously unrecorded area.
