A long & busy day for the guys yesterday for the Round the Island Race. A total of 11 yachts grounded on #RydeSands 1st 1 at lunchtime last 1 at 18.15, with assistance given to 3 by RR1. Easier day today. Thanks to Ben Photography Rue for photos.

Paged yesterday at 17.50 to a fishing boat aground in the entrance to Wootton Creek. RR1 was launched and made best speed to assist because of the falling tide. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to get the boat off the bank. 1 of 2

2 of 2 Assistance was given to the 3 persons on board to get them safely onto dry land. After making sure all was left secure and safe on the boat with the anchor laid, RR1 returned to station with the crew leaving the station at 19.30.
