Couldn't agree more. If I can't find an aesthetically pleasing way of doing it, I'd usually rather not. The intrinsic motivation derived from a beautiful paragraph of prose or method of code is what still propels me.

If a product has an exact specification, because it has been made before, it can just be built. If we know what we want it to do but aren’t sure what it actually is, it has to unfold.

I love replacing Rubygem with Jumpstart Pro API clients. Swapped out an old, unmaintained BitBucket gem with this 4 method API client. No dependencies, no unused features, consistent interface with our other API integrations and very easy maintenance for any future changes.
