It’s like Roosevelt saying to Churchill in 1940: “Make peace with the Nazis or I’ll recognise the Greater German Reich”. I suspect Churchill’s response would be a more eloquent version of Gen McCauliffe’s response to the Nazi demand for his surrender at Bastogne: “Nuts!”

The UK Government says that unless there is a ceasefire by September, it will recognise Palestine as a state. It takes both sides to agree a ceasefire. Why would Hamas agree to a ceasefire now?

So if Israel agrees to UK blackmail Hamas is rewarded with a ceasfire. If Israel doesn't agree Hamas is rewarded with recognition of a Palestinian state. Starmer must be the only hostage negotiator in history who's made the reward a condition of keeping the hostages. Despicable.

The war in Gaza has gone on for so long because Hamas has refused to release the men, women and children it took hostage. Britain rewarding them recognition of statehood sets a terrifying precedent that hostage-taking is an effective bargaining tool when dealing with Britain.

The British government position over ‘recognising Palestine’ is unravelling fast tonight. Or at least bereft of logical explanation. From official UK government statements it seems that Keir Starmer’s position is that, if a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel is reached because

Every major peace plan has been accepted by Israel and rejected by the Palestinians. It’s time the world directed its pressure where it belongs.

Hard truth from the Middle East. Not your filtered leftist Western take.Yes... Over 130 countries have recognized Palestine. But recognition without reality is like awarding "Best Restaurant" to a place that doesn’t have a kitchen. Did Sweden’s 2014 recognition bring peace? Did

The mother of all scandals? The UN's own agencies are reporting that 85% of trucks going into Gaza from May 19 to July 29 were stolen, looted, or intercepted by gangs, armed factions, or hungry people & only 15% made it to the population. See link to UN tracking dashboard below!

I am absolutely sick to my stomach. The latest hostage video released by Palestinian Islamic Jihad is a brutal, horrifying reminder of just how far human cruelty can go. The young person ( the family haven’t give permission to use it yet ) they kidnapped from the Nova music

Here you go, The New York Times, I've done the work for you: a front page showing deliberate starvation and torture in Gaza. The image was released by the Gaza Health Ministry (well, their bosses) so you won't even need to check it like last time. This one is 100% genuine. 🎗️

The United Nations has been posting more or less one tweet a day about Gaza. Guess how many they’ve posted about Evyatar David? But sure, they’re totally neutral, right?

I can understand why world leaders criticize Israel. What I can’t wrap my head around is why they’re silent about Hamas’s blatant crimes. If your activism doesn’t include speaking up for the hostages, then you’re not antiwar, you’re just pro-Hamas.

The names of all 50 hostages still held by Hamas, about 20 of whom are still alive, are held in underground tunnels in Gaza at gunpoint, tortured, abused, and starved for 681 days, while their only "sin" was being Israeli. Where is the world's cry for them?
