U.K. govt. refuse to sit down with nurses = strike going ahead. Scottish govt. sat down with nurses = no strike. Not rocket science.

The Tories just blocked my Bill to extend free school meals to all primary school children. But this isn't over. I'll bring it back to Parliament – and when I do, I need even more MPs backing it. Ask your MP to back the Bill: actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-y…

Not everyone is suffering from a cost of living crisis. In 2022, Shell made £32,200,000,000 in profit - by far the most in its entire history. Time to end this profiteering from misery. Instead of another bill hike, we need a proper windfall tax.

Solidarity with nurses and ambulance staff who are back on strike today. This is the biggest strike in the NHS’ 75-year history. For far too long, NHS workers have been taken for granted. I stand with you all the way ✊🏽 #NHSstrikes

One of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever seen: a grief-stricken father sat holding the hand of his 15-year-old daughter crushed to death beneath the rubble of a building in Turkey. Up to 20,000 now feared dead. #earthquakeinturkey

The 6 richest billionaires in the UK have as much money as the poorest 13.6 million. And almost 3 million more are about to be forced into poverty in April. The 6 should pay, not the 16 million. Wealth taxes. No more asking ordinary people to pay.

Since the Tories took power, rough sleeping has increased by 74%. They cut benefits, pushed people into poverty, allowed rent to spiral out of control and underfunded mental health services. They created this problem. Now they’re targeting the people they failed.

When we worked together at Ch4, Paul O’Grady insisted that new roles on his show were advertised in the local Job Centre. He wanted anyone and everyone to be able to apply so they could get a break like he had. And it made the show better. A kind and generous man.

May we remember and celebrate the lives of Barnaby Webber, Grace Kumar and Ian Coates. Nottingham lost three wonderful and cherished members of our community. My heart goes out to all who loved them. May they rest in peace.
