10 months & 4 days sober & covered in bugs. I came downstairs walked over to Ryan T. Jenkins & he looked at me & said: “creepy!” not the reaction I was hoping for but he’s a horror writer. I think he meant it as a compliment.

good morning everyone. look at my cute baby & messy house.

my students have no business being this smart. truly got to step up my game.

the problem is the full-time work on top of grad school. the fellowship I got in NYC was 18K a year. I don’t know many people w the privilege of doing graduate school w/o teaching loads—& it’s a lot. not to mention family obligations. I had my daughter in grad school.

my new cat & my daughter have been a little skittish around each other but today Boone followed Evie upstairs, sat down by her legs & let her pet her, & let Evie pick her up awkwardly. they also played together this AM with colored pencils I got the best cat (& kid) in the world

sometimes I look at my daughter & remember—I grew her in my body. my body made her possible. it’s miraculous.

310 days sober & up at a decent time on a Saturday. I’m winning, everyone. here’s my baby (& a ton of disorganized toys, thanksgiving decorations from last year, & vacuum I never use)

I take my daughter to taekwondo twice a week so she can kick your son’s ass if necessary.

Boone just tried to eat Evie’s donut & Evie screamed & scared her away. we have very different relationships to this cat because Boone definitely gets some of whatever I’m eating 😂
