The Independent Union of Trepça Miners reports that miners have not received their June wages. The government's interest in the miner's fate is zero, raising the possibility of migration due to this neglect. With July ending, wages remain unpaid. Immediate action is needed.

On TikTok, the same narrative which was used for Imane Khelif, a cis female Algerian boxer competing in the Olympics Women’s Boxing, is now being used towards Laura Fazliu who rexently won a bronze medal. This TikTok post has garnered over 145,000 likes.

It was announced last week that Kosovo's government allocated €4M to Trepça miners, who have gone two months without pay. It took Kosovo government two months to pay Trepça miners. The June wages have finally been paid, but July's still remain unpaid.

Trepça's public enterprise management has declared a state of emergency and suspended planned vacations for miners in September, October, and November. This decision follows a miners' strike from mid-July to mid-August due to unpaid wages.

While Vetëvendosje was in opposition, their years of political activism included numerous protests. They were consistently vocal against police violence in Kosovo. Today, however, Vetëvendosje is using the police in their electoral campaign for the upcoming elections.
