COVID-19 polices are often discussed as a trade off between economy and health. This chart makes it look like the real trade off is between competence (lower left) and incompetence (upper right).

This is actually the opposite of democracy. I have never spent more than 15 minutes voting ever. And I’ve voted in all elections in Norway since I was 18. Every second year.

“This feels more like the end of a regime than the end of a democratically elected government. The sense of collective relief is quite extraordinary.”

I wish the changes Red Hat Ansible and Homebrew are doing would play better together, right now it's seems to be a mess where neither homebrew_cask or homebrew modules work for installing casks.

Twenty years ago, at a winter resort in Utah, 17 opinionated guys met up and agreed on the "Agile Manifesto" – and changed the course of software development forever. On Thursday the Norwegian agile community celebrates with The Other Alistair as guest: meetup.com/smidig/events/…

I sorta try not to use Twitter for ranting. Sometimes I fail. But OneDrive is s a very good reason to rant. Every time. OneDrive just decided that my 8.5GB of files need to be re-synchronized. This will hog CPU for fucking forever! I HATE ONEDRIVE!!!

My Amazon Echo a.k.a Alexa just tried to tell me about a new feature: "If you want to .... just say 'Alexa ...'" and then reacted to 'Alexa' being mentioned and switched to listening for a command.

For someone looking at this from the sideline it certainly feels like a blast from the past. Just when Microsoft has built some really good buzz with VS Code and other stuff, they ruin their rep with this. Why disrupt the ecosystem you're the primary player in?

"We don’t prioritize the climate today. Our goal isn't to lower emissions. Our goal is to find solutions that allow us to continue life today. Of course you can ask “Can’t we have both?” But the uncomfortable truth is that we've left it too late for that." washingtonpost.com/magazine/2021/…

Plan - during vacation I'm going to do X and Y and Z and all those other things I've put off so as to do during vacation. Reality - oh look, I've watched 700 episodes of this series I'm not even interested in.

If you need to keep track of your hours worked, perhaps across multiple projects, I can easily recommend HoursTracker. I use it on iPhone and Apple Watch and it is just 👍👍👍 get.hourstrackerapp.com

So many of us make the mistake of thinking we’re “not readers” when we’re really just in a reading slump. There’s no feeling like the joy of rediscovering reading after a long break and remembering why you fell in love with books in the first place.

Elmo is clearly so inept at managing, that I am starting to fear that Tesla will never be self-driving (anyone surprised?), SpaceX will never reach Mars (why go there anyways) and Boring-tunnels will never be viable (unless they are made into rail-tunnels).
