One of the #ExoneratedFive won the Democratic primary for NY City Council, effectively winning Central Harlem's seat, per The Associated Press. Yusef Salaam was 1 of 5 Black & Latino teens wrongly convicted for a 1989 Central Park rape. He spent 6+ years in prison & they were exonerated in 2002.
